Andy Ruiz says the rematch against Anthony Joshua will be in NY, Las Vegas or at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. In other words, Ruiz is not going to fight him in the UK. Some boxing fans have said that since Joshua fought him in New York the first time, Ruiz should fight him in the UK for the rematch but Ruiz has made his own demands for the rematch and rightfully so. Anthony Joshua loses to Ruiz and the boxing world is going crazy. In what has been a strange turn of events, AJ’s loss has every boxing fan questioning everything about everything. Many boxing fans believed Joshua was the best Heavyweight in the world and Deontay Wilder was supposedly ducking him. Now they have to wonder if Joshua even belongs in the same ring as Wilder. The way Joshua was beaten makes matters even worse. He wasn’t KO’d he was simply outboxed by Ruiz, a last-minute replacement who many have made fun for not looking like an in shape boxer. To make matters worse is all of the trash talking that has been going on by UK boxing fans who have claimed Deontay Wilder has been ducking Joshua, now have egg on their face. How can anyone justify Joshua being the man that should dictate who will get the bigger payday against Wilder when he can’t even beat Ruiz? This upset has to be up there with some of the biggest upsets in boxing history. Buster Douglas vs. Tyson, Lennox Lewis vs. Rahman is what comes to mind. Only time will tell if Joshua can recoup from this and bounce back. With all that said, Joshua has already mentioned a possible rematch at the end of the year. Until then Joshua and the entire UK will be hearing a lot of trash talking coming from the USA. American boxing fans are not soon to forget the insult that was thrown towards Wilder from the UK. Wilder was called an American coward, and they replaced his catchy “BombSquad” slogan with the term “DuckSquad” insinuating that Wilder was ducking Joshua who was supposedly the better fighter with more championships and that Wilder should play by the terms laid out by Joshua in order to set up a fight. That’s all over now. Now, we have to see if Ruiz is the real deal or not. We have to see if Joshua’s loss was just a fluke. We have to see if the Heavyweight division is Deontay Wilder’s division to rule. |
