It seems like every week, if not every day, there is new CM Punk returns rumor. If CM Punk even looks at a wrestling post or tweets about it, the wrestling community goes ape shit and bloggers, youtubers and podcasters start the CM Punk is returning to wrestling news cycle. Some it is does just to get views but this time, the rumors have a little more validity.
AEW has been open wanting to sign CM Punk and I can't blame them. Everyone remembers how Punk left WWE in a bridge burning fashion. AEW has a lot of money and have been trending every since Double or Nothing, followed by the announcement of AEW becoming a weekly show on TNT. The thing that makes the CM Punk rumors legit is that Punk actually showed up at Milwaukee wrestling promotion with a mask on, giving the GTS to one there wrestlers. This proves that CM Punk is still somewhat involved with wrestling. Finally, the next AEW pay-per-view event "All Out" will be in Chicago, which is CM Punk's home town. Coincidentally, "All Out" is the final pay-per-view that AEW will be hosting just before the launch of their weekly wrestling show that will be airing on TNT. What better way for CM Punk to get revenge on the WWE, than to make an appearance at All Out and sign with AEW. The timing is too perfect and that makes me think, maybe, just maybe, we this is too good of an opportunity for CM Punk to pass up. |
