TNT extends AEW's contract. WWE marks are hating but it's what's best for buisness. Hopefully this causes WWE to step its game up now that they have legit competition since the late 90's. AEW has exceeded expectations. Not bad what HHH called a piss ant T-shirt wrestling promotion.
I don't say this often but the last RAW was so bad I think it might just be the worst that have personally ever seen. I found myself not caring for anything on the entire show. I am a huge AJ Styles fan but even he could not save this show.
It is becoming harder and harder to do a Monday Night RAW each week, so I won't. I will keep this short and sweet and straight to the point. WWE has no stars! Seth Rollins is dead in the water. The only good thing about this entire show was Ric Flair coming to the ring and going on a drunken tirade. Bobby Lashley continues to taunt Rusev after stealing his wife Lana. Lashley and Lana at some restaurant talking shit about Rusev setting the scene for Rusev to show up and beat the shit out of Lashley. However, Rusev did nothing when he showed up. Yes, he attacked Lashley but it was so weak and security broke the fight up before it could even get started. The Street Profits finally had a match against the O.C and it was decent. Street Profits seemed to be over with the crowd so I will give them credit for that. It was the best match of the night as far as crowd reaction was concerned. For years wrestling fans have complained about Vince McMahon force-feeding shitty lines to wrestlers. The most famous shitty line that comes to mind is Roman Reigns saying, "Suffering Succotash".
If that is not the most unnatural moment in the history of pro-wrestling, I don't know what is. Things are changing however, with AEW putting the pressure on Vince and the WWE, yoy can see things are getting interesting again. It seems as if certain wrestlers are allowed to speak freely and just hit the bullet points in their promos. Of course we will never see the day when Vince will allow wrestlers to just go completely off the script but honestly I dont think they should anyway. What's important is the natural feel and believability. People want the wrestlers to come off as genuine even though we know wrestling is scripted. Chris Jericho recently spoke with Mature Audiences Mayhem and said this about MJF: "When you're a great heel, chances are you are entertaining. Unless you're a psycho heel, which is very hard to play," Jericho said. MJF is the perfect example of why AEW is needed. If he were in WWE his character would not be able shine. He is so good on the mic that he makes me forget he is only 22 years old. All this week have been hearing wrestling podcasters complaining about Bayleys heel turn. They keep saying she is not heel enough. First of all, what people need to understand is Bayley is not your typical heel. She is playing the role of a bad girl that does not know that she is a bad girl.
That's the point of all of this, she will never be a heel that insults the crowd. She will always justify her actions in a tongue in cheek like fashion. Sasha Banks is playing the role as the real bad girl that is influencing Bayley to bad things, that's the story. I dont understand why these so-called smart fans are not catching on to this obvious storyline. I just wish people would stop asking for her to change her theme music and act more arrogant and nasty just to prove that she is a real heel. It's not necessary. Sasha is there to make sure Bayley is depicted as a heel l, that's all you need. Also it is important to note that WWE really does not do the heel vs face thing anymore, that era is pretty much over. Everybody is now a tweener. |
