Colin Kaepernick replied to Jay-Z's claims that we are past kneeling by saying, "We ain't past nothing."
I said in my post addressing this subject some time ago that the NFL thinks that Jay-Z is still the voice of the Black community and whatever he does, Black people will follow suit. This is one of those times when they will find out they were wrong. Jay-Z has no pull other than the fact that he has a lot of money.
Of course, not every Black person in America got behind Kaepernick when he was kneeling in protest for the unarmed Black men in America that had been shot and killed by police officers without consequence.
What Jay-Z does not realize is that this cause is greater than his fame. Black people are not just ready to move on and not only that but as we see Eric Garner did not get justice and just goes to show that the powers that be are just ignoring the Black community as a whole. I'm not saying that kneeling will make them treat Black people fairly but it keeps the conversation going, that's the part that Jay-Z is missing. We don't want them thinking that we have just moved on like we usually do. Not this time.
Meek Mill doing big things again. Meek posted on Instagram his joint venture with Jay-Zâs âROC NATIONâ. It seems as if Dream Chasers will be officially on ROC NATION going forward. Jay-Z referred to Meek Mill having trouble with the court system and he was able to rebound from that bad situation.
Jay-Z stated that Meek Mill has turned something that was a negative thing into a positive. Everything that has done has shown that he can carry that weight for the next generation.
